Another Como Zoo Visit

Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Linda visited us over Mother's Day weekend. On Tuesday we took a trip to the Como Zoo. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed viewing all the animals -- humans included.

My Little Angel

The boys and I and Aunt Jermaine and Cousins Jenna and Jaden went to the Minneapolis Public Library the other day. They have an awesome kids area that we checked out and played in. Jonathan discovered a bluejay puppet that he wanted to keep and take home with him. During a moment of non-motion I caught him in this photo. I was going to take more photos of the library and the kids playing but my batteries went dead immediately after this shot. Boo hoo. I really should buy another set of rechargeables. Jonathan was wearing his favorite camoflage clothing this day. The hat was given to him by his daddy. It used to be one of Jay's army hats. It is a treasure for Jonathan.

Family Trees

Two weeks ago Grandma Linda and Grandpa Chuck came to visit us and help take down some trees in our yard. Everyone pitched in and helped. The work was hard and very tiring. Thank you Grandpa Chuck for climbing around in the trees. Thanks Grandma Linda for raking the yard again and again and again. We love you.

Brotherly Love

Aren't they sweet? I love it when these two get along. The nicer weather has allowed the two to bond on the John Deere kids tractor that Grandpa John bought for them last year. They go zooming around the house at hare speed which is much faster than turtle speed. Around and around and around they go until they wear the battery out. It's pretty funny to watch them fly around the yard. Jonathan is really good at driving now. He'll be a natural when he gets his learner's permit in another 10 years.

Do You Recognize This Child?

I'm not sure what Eric was thinking when I took this photo. Maybe don't take any more photos of me on this fire engine!!!! Do you think I should be worried about his attitude? Hmmmm...I may be in trouble in coming years.

Today is just a lazy Sunday. The kids and I made it to the gym and then had some lunch and naps. Right now Eric's outside playing in the sandbox while Jonathan is still snoozing. I may need to wake him up soon. I am dropping the kids at John and Jackie's around 5:00 tonight. Jay bought us tickets to the Guthrie Theater tonight. We will be seeing The Merchant of Venice. I'm excited because it is the first time we have been to the new digs. Should be cool. We are trying to get there a bit early to check everything out. Wow! It's like date night! Although I don't have anything to wear...it's a recurring dilemma.

Park Play

The other day we went to the park to launch a rocket. The rocket launch was a total failure but the park was a hit! Oh, to be young again.

Here Come the Animals

As part of our zoo adventure, the boys got to ride a few rides at Como Town, the amusement park area of the park. The rocket ship was a hit with both Eric and Jonathan. I enjoyed the slowest train ride in the world with both Jonathan and Eric. My dad went on the twirling pumpkins with Jonathan. Two boys in their car made it twirl and twirl as fast as can be and they never stopped for the whole ride. Luckily neither dad nor Jonathan got sick from the spinning. Lori and I were a bit worried while watching and especially glad we weren't on the ride as well. Jonathan enjoyed the police car ride on the grass as that ride wasn't set up yet for the season.

Como Zoo Visit

The animals were out at the Como Zoo this past weekend. The weather was BEAUTIFUL so the whole city was at the zoo. Very crowed which made for some crabby moments for us all but we had a ton of fun. The animals were out and active. Sparky had a practice session for his upcoming show season. That was a special perk for us all but especially for Jonathan because he LOVES Sparky the seal. One of the favorite parts of the zoo was the new rainforest display which featured a leaf cutter ant colony. Cool! Those little guys were extremely busy.
